You can still watch SBCC athletes in action, even if you can’t make it out to the picturesque campus for a game. Vaquero home games are now available in live streaming video on the internet, via Stretch Internet.

The sports that fans can watch in the fall are football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men's and women's basketball.

“Stretch Internet is well established with NCAA institutions and we’re the only community college to offer this caliber of live streaming games,” said Vaquero athletic director Ryan Byrne. “They offer one of the most user friendly and high-quality platforms on the market.

“There’s a lot of people who want to support our program and watch our student-athletes. For one reason or another -- geographic, time constraints or work -- they can’t always get out to the games. This gives people the chance to watch us from their living room or on their phone or mobile device.”

Games are archived on the SBCC Stretch Internet page in the “On Demand” section, allowing people to watch previously aired games at any time.

There is no audio commentary on the streaming video currently but Byrne hopes to add that in the near future.

Stretch Internet, based in Mesa, Ariz., was founded in 2003 by a former college athletics media relations professional who saw a need to provide affordable, high-quality streaming to college and university athletic departments. Stretch Internet works with nearly 300 colleges and universities, high schools and professional sports organizations.

By utilizing the best streaming technology possible and backed by one of the best customer support systems in the business, SBCC Athletics hopes to attract supporters from around the world to tune in and cheer on the Vaqueros.
